For those interested in such things, you might like to compare the story board I did with the end product. There are a few changes in the story, largely because I was thinking about making this the first part of a short feature. I abandoned that idea as it became obvious to me that working without any budget would always create problems with production values and create story gaps that would be too difficult to plug with pick ups etc. At its most basic level, no budget productions mean no pick ups and a greater likelihood that you will need them!
So armed with the knowledge of where best to spend my money, my next short, Zombie Radio, has higher production values.
Being very much a one man, hands on sort of writer/ producer/ director/ stunt coordinator/ set designer/ caterer etc etc does mean I can save money in a lot of areas but in the end, there is just so much one person can do. The secret of keeping a track of your money is to know where it is best spent, and also writing a script that can keep everything in your control.
