I am looking for short film scripts! I want scripts from five to fifteen pages long. And I want them to be moving, funny and thought provoking and capable of being made for a reasonable budget here in Hong Kong.
They can be in English, Poutungwa or Cantonese, though send me an English translation of the script.
I will pay HK$2,000 for the complete exclusive rights to use the script to produce a short film. The writer will get a "Written By..." credit.
Simply fill out the Writers Release form found below and e-mail it and the script to me at lwgray@netvigator.com.
I will get back to you as soon as possible about it.
There is no deadline for this. This is an open invitation for people to submit their short scripts to me. I will be looking for more for both myself and others to direct.
Already I have purchased a script from Ahmed Ndao, a musician living and working in Dakar, Senegal, whose screenplay I have now begun scheduling and preparing for production.
Wanted: Music Composers
I am looking for a composer to write a great song for Ahmed Ndao's script. It has to be an extremely powerful song sung in a moment of complete despair. The theme is that out of despair there comes beauty, but little hope for the individual - yes, it's a very sad story. The best example of the sort of song that I am thinking of can be seen below. Essentially it is a powerful lament.
The story has a street sleeper half remember the tune throughout the piece, until in the end they suddenly recall the whole thing and provide me with the ending. I won't give too much away here.
My budget for this is as ever minuscule, and so I can only offer HK$1,000 for the song and composing the music for the full film. The film's length will be somewhere between ten and twenty minutes long.
If you are interested please send me a thirty second snippet of the main song idea. As for the lyrics, they will be subject to alteration to fit the film and they will be in Chinese. If you know Chinese, all very well, if not, don't worry. Just give me a suitably powerful lament with whatever language and lyric you like.
